As much as half of clinicians time is spent on non-patient facing work in mental health services. We think it is time for change. Don't you?
Health Technology For You
Autism Mapper and ADHD Mapper guide the Clinician through a large DSM-5 web-based question bank during the assessment interview whilst generating a finalised formatted MS Word report immediately. This is for clinicians already trained to carry out these assessments in accordance to the established NICE guidelines.
Questions cover the DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria but these apps are NOT diagnostic tools or medical devices. Clinicians still use their own clinical judgement.
Customisable to reflect the questioning and report writing style of each clinician.
Service Specific: The reports can be produced in the clinicians’ own template used at work.
Gender and Age Specific Assessments: The assessment changes according to whether the young person is male or female and if they are a child, adolescent or adult.
Reduces Admin Burden: Replaces the need for a medical secretary, dictation or extensive editing after each assessment. This greatly reduces the admin burden associated with long thorough semi-structured diagnostic interviews for ASD and ADHD.
Patient Specific Recommendations are generated at the end of the report based upon the responses given by the young person, adult, parent and / or other caregiver(s) during the interview.
Utilises Non-medical Staff: Up-skills allied health professionals not used to carrying out these diagnostic assessments on a regular basis. Opening up more staff to contribute to clearing the waiting list through the interview. In these cases the questions, level of app assistance during each question and the report format would need to be standardised through the app at the agreed Service Provision level (NHS Trust or Private Health Care Service).
Saves time by at least 30-50% in the following areas:
Consultation Time and Improved Non-Verbal Engagement: Greatly reduces the number of keystrokes and time spent looking at the screen by utilising keyboard shortcuts and one click documentation of the form aspect of symptoms. This allows the clinicians’ focus to be on the content. Thereby, improving the clinician-client non-verbal interaction.
Post-Consultation Admin Time: Remember the report is complete at the end of the interview.
Patient Specific Recommendations: The app provides patient specific recommendations based upon the clients responses during the interview.
Patients Cleared from Waiting List in Real Time: The developmental part of the assessment pathway is complete. Therefore there is minimal lag in the system which frees up clinicians to see more patients or have appropriate breaks to their day.
A Waiting List Crisis Solution: This represents a major breakthrough into reducing the unacceptably long waiting lists for ASD and ADHD assessments worldwide.
Reduced Staff Burnout and other Indirect Benefits to wider society (inclusing NHS, Education, Social Care, Employers and QoL) through earlier assessment +/- diagnosis.
Motivation, Peer Consultation and App Launch: Dr Grant is a health technology entrepreneur and is launching Autism Mapper and ADHD Mapper in October 2024, after open consultation with peers at the RCPsych Annual Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Conference in London on 26.09.2024. He founded Wellbeing Associates in 2021. He developed the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Proof of Concept (POC) during the Covid-19 Pandemic, whilst attempting to clear NHS waiting list across the country.
Safe and Secure: Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Proof Of Concept (POC) including solution architecture approved by AWS Partner Programme (2021). No patient identifiable date is stored. Terms and Conditions, Consent, GDPR and Data Privacy Policy has been commissioned by the global law firm, Goodwin Law.
